Ella Thorn taught a class to our members on how to hook and assemble 3-dimensional Indian corn.

Her kits had a nice variety of brightly colored wool and all the supplies needed to hook the corn.  Ella shared her secret for darkening the bright colors by using walnut crystals in a spray bottle called "Instant Antique".  Refer to the before and after photos below on how Win Grossman utilized the walnut crystals for her Indian corn.   Another member, Denise McCall, said she tea-dyed the wool from her kit to give it a more antiqued look.

Another tip Ella shared was to use Singer carpet and button wax thread.  It's made of a strong and long-lasting cotton/poly blend making it super durable.
